Court Role And StructureArticle IV of the Mabruenian Constutition establishes the judicial branch as one of the three separate and distinct branches of the royal federal government. The three branches of Mabruenia operate within a contitutional framework similiar to the United Kingdom and the United States, using checks and balances. While each branch is officially seperate from each other, the constitution does require that each branch work together. Royal Federal Laws for example, are passed by the Chancellor and the Grand Assembly and signed by the Soveriegn. The judicial branch however, has the authority to decide the constitutionality of royal federal laws and to resolve cases involving them. The judges depend on the Executive Branch to enforce the decisions made by courts. Supreme CourtThe Supeme Court of Mabruenia, just like the U.S Supreme Court, is the highest court in the nation. Article IV of the Constitution created the Supreme Court and authorized the Grand Assembly to pass laws establishing a system of lower courts. |
